I think the flatbottom driver could've avoided this but IMO the cruiser driver was at fault.

I would of gone to jail for beatin his ass.
Flatty driver saw it coming, drove right into it. Should have been gone before it happened. Shame on the cruiser driver for doing that with all those boats around.

Hey Jerry, we have a boat at the bottom of Lake Powell from the unsuspecting family in a tuna boat who swamped us and sank it in 120 of water. We even hired divers and never found the boat. We just found another Hallett hull that needed to be built and rigged and the boys learned some of what they know today in part, due to that loss. Good trade, in my book!

Been there Done ThatThis was the aftermath of a Big Cruiser that came to close

I might not be Fast BUT I sure am Slow

I totally disagree and I've seen this situation before.
The flatbottom owner certainly knew what other boats operated there before he went. He chose to launch his boat there.
If someones boat can't take the waves don't blame all the other boats on the water for your bad choice in boats and stupidity that you didn't take the time to make a splash guard.
Operate at your own risk or leave it home in the garage.
Waaaaa
Here's my take. Immediately off the ramp is almost always a "no wake" zone so there's strike one at the cruiser driver.
The proximity of the cruiser to the other boats was not conducive to hammering the throttle in my opinion.
The simple fact that the flat was trying to get away as the cruiser did his thing also indicates this may have been 100% intentional.
I say the cruiser driver wins "hemorrhoid of the week" for that stunt. What do I know though, I just have 20 Grand sitting on the bottom of Powell from nearly the same situation?

I would have pulled the plug on that cruiser. Any seasonal boater would know his boat would create such a wake. That is the definition of a knucklehead!!
