Default Headers for a Pontiac 400 engine ??

I have a 1970 Passant v-drive with a 1971 Pontiac 400 engine. It has a thru hull exhaust and I was wanting to get some headers for it. Can anyone tell me where I can find a set of headers that will work with this engine?? Any help would be appreciated!!

If you can't find any, just get a set of flanges and build your own or have someone build a set for you.Even though I could find some for myself(fe ford)thats what I'am going to do .It well be kind of cool to have a set thats just the way you want then to look.

What heads are you running ? I have seen a pair up for sale. they are not for the Ram Air heads(round port) they are for the other more common head: that the center ex ports are butted up together like on a 670 casting number head.

I contacted this guy and he said the headers shown pictured are only for a jet boat not a v-drive. What's the difference??

If they are a jet header..the motor sits in the boat with the engine tilted down in the rear..so the headers are built at that angle to look level in the boat when they are on the motor. So if jet headers were bolted to a v-drive where the motor is level..the headers will head up instead of looking level. You will see several jet headers bolted on v-drive boats and they work fine..they just look funny.

Well not everyone feels that way or you would not see them, I went out of my way, specifically looking for a jet set for my Cole.

BT409 I'm with you. I ran jet headers on my Hondo for years, kind of liked the look.

also check the heads on pontiacs. some 400 heads but most 350 heads didnt have bolts at the ends of the head flange. they need to be drilled and tapped. my last pontiac engine made a great anchor
