Rest In Peace Ryan. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family and freinds.
It's always hard to lose someone in this sport, but especially hard when it's someone that tried to make a difference. RIP Ryan.
Very sad news. Prayers to the family and all those involved. RIP Ryan.
My thoughts & prayers go out to Ryan's family & friends. Very sad indeed.
Chris
about this in a phone call from Black Lake while I worked to make some racing $s at a local swap meet. The racer who called me was stunned as it happened in front of him.
Oh, my. Very very Sad to say the least!
Yesterday, Saturday July 9th, the day of Ryans mishap in SS/PS44, my prayers, from where I stood holding that cell phone instantly shot out my brain for his family and all the Starfire friends and fellow racers and rescue folks involved.
I wondered like most, in silence, of what could have prevented or lessened this tragic accident.
Honestly, Robin and I are very glad we did not get E25 ready in time to witness it first hand since we had planned on running there, and I feel for all those in attendance...!
Words can not express my grief and concern .......
What little I knew of Ryan, of his quiet professional demeanor, Love for the sport, and willingness to help, anyone, will not be forgotten. I hope I speak for others who knew him but maybe to bashful to post!
May God Comfort & Bless!

GODSPEED Ryan...
My prayers go out to his Family and Friends..
"But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me."
Psalm 22:19
Although I did not know you Ryan...It feels like I lost someone.......

Ryan was a super nice guy; well liked by all. He would bend over backwards to help anyone if he could. He was an auto fabricator and designer, and many racers used his skills whether it be in preparation for a race, or at a race. I know of quite a few times if someone broke a part at one of our races in Western Washington, he'd go back to his shop from the race to either fix it, or make a new one. He's posted many pictures on this site of the beautiful work he did to his Starfire, which used to be my Uncle's. He turned into a very modern, safety-orientated race boat. A stunning tragedy is an understatement, but it's all I got. Very, very sad.
Five O suggested that we stick thread like this to honor fallen members for 7 days, sort of like a flag at half-staff kind of deal. I thought its a good idea so well try it out. I'm hoping this will be the only time we'll have to do it.
I didn't know Ryan but from what I read he was a great guy. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.![]()
