I would use a angle stock instead of flat plate on the transom.

I thought about that also. I have a piece of 4x4 1/4" angle on the inside of the transom to bolt through or should I do both or just outside? thanks for looking...

Epidimic, that was one of the revenge boats wasn't it?? #28?

Uhhh, yea. Bob Goettle (Revenge BoatsŪ) just told you what he'd do.

And your boat is looking very nice.

The inside angle only backs up the center of the transom. The outer part of the transom (behind the panels) is not backed. So what happens is when the down pedal is applied the outer turn buckles will flex the transom just a little. However the tiny bit of flex is enough that the plate in the center moves "X" amount of distance, while the outer part of cavition plate moves "Y" a bit less. Doesn't sound like that big of deal. However I can attest that in testing K-28 that a 32nd of an inch was not only noticeable in attitude but in performance.
    Good Luck, boat looks great.
    Bob Goettel

P.S. Remember observing this on the trailer, will not show what actually happens in the water. The cav plates in a turn produce many, many pounds of pressure.
