Looking good Mike... Just curious, does your boat have 2 or 4 cav plates? Keep the pics coming, it helps keep me motivated....

I see you are putting a lot of power in that 21. You will need to have the strakes redone or you WILL find yourself upside down. Please ask all gn racers that have a 21 Rayson. I love the boat and do not want you or any other v driver to get hurt. Please do your own research.
    Sincerely, Pat

Pat its never going to be a race boat. this is a lake boat. motor should be 900-950 hp the boat was used in nor cal with a blown 850 HP motor for ski racing without problems. I have heard about them grabbing a chine when turning hard into the corner and spining out but I will never come close to that with this boat. can you add more to this and tell me what has happend in the past.

Sanger mike, when then strakes go all the way to.nose and are curved and you dive the nose in hard they have the tendency to steer the boat hard left or right depending.on the.side it enters. Also we take stakes off from transom forward. This helps by less lift at tail which let's nose carry to also not bow steer. Hope this helps.

Love those cruisers. Cucci which strakes do you remove at the transom,(inner, outer,??) and how far forward do you remove them. I have a 21 Howard and I was thinking about adding to the center strakes for more stability.
