Cool mildew on upholstery

I just took the boat cover off of my pontoon boat(yes I know its not a performance boat but it keeps my St Bernard of my miller) and the seats were all dark in color. I thought it was just dirt but it would not clean. after removing the cover for 2 days the dark color went away. When I covered it again and took it off to use the dark color returned only to go again in a couple of days. I'm going to sell the boat but won't stick someone with a problem. I understand this is common here in havasu in boats stored outside with covers. Does anyone have a cure other then new interior. Oh by the way my St Bernard will just have to play in the pool but don't think it's smart enough to swim.

try some Hydrogen Peroxide from the drug store.....You can dilute it 50% and wet down the covers with a spray bottle and let sit, redo until get results...it will not damage anything or leave residue.....it will kill the mildew thats there.

my boat does the same thing. it is weird cause it goes away when you put the boat in sunlight. The only thing i have found that helps is clorox toilet bowl cleaner. the gel stuff. I put a post on here a while back showing pics of before and after.

But i tried everything. and i am guessing the bleach kills the mold. and it has had no adverse effects on my interior. i have used it for about 3 years now.

I usually wipe the mold off with the toilet bowl cleaner then hit the seats up with an interior cleaner after that. then i enjoy the weekend.
