Hey voodoo- Were you part of that Bill Dexter crowd? Mark, Crazy Robbie etc.
I may have asked you before, but did you buy your boat from the Dave Robanski estate? If so, he held the record in blown alky flat for some time.
He was filing his stock rocker arm slots for more lift in his class....guess it's ok to talk about now![]()
Too funny you bring those names up. Yes I am part of that same crazy crowd. I just talked to Bill Dexter this weekend. He came down to our CDBA race at Dexter. I haven't seen him since the old days when he had the
"Chilli Pepper" Hallet.
The Robanski boat was bought by my very good friend Jeff Green (also part of the John Day crowd) I didn't ever hear of Dave ever setting a record in the boat, but before he had it Lee Ogalsbie (sp) was a heavy hitter in the class, ( MORE WHEATIES) and had set some speed records. It's still painted on the back of the boat. Jeff is running the 8.0's with it in CDBA.
PM me I'm sure we have met at some time. Small world.

Yeah it was the More Wheaties. I wanna say 139 or 140mph at the time.
Maybe it was Robanski claiming the fame to me, or maybe I remembered it wrong. The rocker arm thing was Robanski. He was accused of charging the lights as well, but he didn't red light so.........
I only came out to John Day twice with some of those guys. Long time ago..
We are heading over to the lake as will. It will be cool to see some of you guys.
