My family and I had a great time on CDA last summer. It was a long haul but worth every mile.

Never got hassled for noise or speed which was also great. The NW is still the greatest Summer boating I know of.

Met Mike at Carlin on the 4th.

Yea I know mike and bunny now for about 2 years now. They are both very nice and super cool people to hang with at the lake.

There's a huge group but most of them aren't much for the internet. It was be a ton of fun to get together. Did you attend the Labor Day Insane Asylum last year at PotHoles by Mose Lake? I heard a count of 57 boats last year and there's going to be even more this year. That would be an easy run for you. We're all staying at MarDon.....

I would love to do some boating over your way as well.

Check out Skagenboats.com for the forums there..........that's where most of us lowlife hang out.........take care...john

We've been there twice over the last couple years. It's massive in length, width depends on the water level. When we went last Memorial day the water was down around 30 feet, But the year before around the 4th it was at the top and full of debrise. We were near Keller Ferry, about 15 miles up from the dam. We stayed at The River Rue campground just up the hill from the boat ramp. Pretty remote, no cell service there. You can explore till you run out of gas.

    Default Lake Roosevelt

Better places to go other than Roosevelt in this area. It can get real windy there. Seems like the wind blows all the time unless you go way north to the top of the lake and then it can still be windy. You should try the Coeur d'Alene River and the chain lakes off the river. The St. Joe River is good as well. If you like good camping go to upper Priest Lake. It's boat in camping only..contact me if you want some additional info about the area...

I love all the ID Northern Lakes like Priest, Pend Orville, CdA. Unfortunately I don't like the speed limit and being boarded on every lake. Seems like the LEO's are looking for more. My 2 boardings last year, I knew more than the LEO's about the laws. Scary.

    Default Leo's

Those guys never bother me. I have a hydro with open exhaust and no mufflers. They look at it as they go by, but never pull me over. If you run up and down the CDA River you can pretty much go as fast as you want. From the CDA River boat through a channel to Kilarny Lake. There is hardly anybody there and you can go as fast as you want. The water is warm and always flat. Boating up here is great. You can always find flat water and no crowds if thats what you want. On the south end of Lake CDA it is now run by the indians. They patrol the southern portion of the lake and the St. Joe River. Even those guys have never stopped me for anything. Life is very good up here. Moved here 15 years ago from Los Angeles. Wish I would have done it sooner..let me know if anyone has any specific questions about the area...Jess
