Not sure if anyone else will be around but, going to take the Hondo with Blown HEMI Pontiac out for a little testing and Bob with his BBC Cole will be there too. If anyone here see us, stop over and say hello. Hoping for a nice day and no crowds, should be good. Learning how to drive it and need some more seat time.
Just ran the valves, checked head torque, swapped over the collector headers. Just about ready!
Ooops! slight breach on the title of the thread! One is a flat, other is a runner. Oh boy! what a runner it is!

We had a good time, thanks for asking. Bob ended up getting there on time, I was about 3 hours late. This was my first time back to Saguaro in about 10 years. Things had changed a bit. There were plenty of signs about how you must have a permit but, I could not find anyplace to BUY one! How stupid. I found out you cannot get a parking permit there. Rediculous. Anyway, Bobs Cole was running great, he took me for a little spin, I was intimidated and told him so. He was easy on me and even let me drive it. first time getting to operate a down pedal. Now will put one on my Hondo for sure.
As for me and my boat. Had water pump problems, impeller was fried, had a buddy pick one up at Bergerons and we put it in. Worked better but still not right. Still got to take the Hondo out and a few laps before putting it on the trailer. Felt really good to be on the water at Saguaro again. Each time I go there, I remember boating there with my family at about 5 years of age.
On the way home, stopped back at Bergerons and Phil is going to repair my pump for me and can pick it up today. Really like Bergeron, a great shop and nice people. Highest regards for them ( even though they are chevy guys ) Just playing around there.
I was surprised how nice the water still is! Makes me want to go wakeboarding. Not sure if I will get the chance to as am more focused on getting the Hondo running and ripping. I love the Hilborn injectors! I see no need for carbs. So crisp and snappy with the injectors. I guess it is just for more of a gearhead type than the turn key type of boater.
Need lots of seat time with the flatbottom to get more comfortable with it. Will now let the jet ( Rogers ) sit until next season but, it is almost done too.
Headed back to Saguaro soon, maybe today, tomorrow or early in the week. Watching the weather.
thanks again to Bob for letting me drive his Cole. It is good to get to drive different boats and get a proper fell for them.
These flats are very different from the jets I am so comfortable with. They are very exciting to drive and ride in compared to a jet but, I love both styles of hulls and drives. They each have their virtues.
High performance boating is a great sport/hobby. I still wear a big smile on my face from yesterday.
Had a great time myself, Steve sorry we couldn't stay later but had to pick up Sara at school. Tell Todd sorry I didn't have time to give him a ride. Glad you had fun riding and driving the Cole as it is always fun putting a smile on someones's face.
Hope we can make the trip again soon.
If a girl with big boobs can work at Hooter's, then why can't a girl with one leg work at IHOP.
