1986 nordic 20 question

Picked up a new boat this weekend and was trying to determine exactly what engine it has, I took the numbers off the back of the block 3963512 as well as the numbers that are stamped on the left front T7078CPD, I did look these up and it shows either a 427 or 454 year 1971, just wondered how you can tell for sure and if its a 2 or 4 bolt main. I was also wondering if anyone has seen a 20' Nordic with the Bravo 1 drive, everyone i have spoke with says Nordic only offered this model with a jet, It all looks factory to me, but the boat is a 1986 so the 1971 engine code is a bit strange.

But as far as useful information the numbers on the head will dictact the head itself. There were allot of different options and you could take a 1971 high compression head and put it on a newer engine block for better performance. The numbers on the block should tell the story.

It's entirely likely someone swapped in an older 454. Have the heads modified for unleaded fuel and you'll have a higher compression motor with a little most gusto.
