Although I have never been to the famed Shoot-out, I did attend last year's National Championship. This year's race will have even more to offer as the "Horny Toad" entertainment complex is complete. Also complete are a couple new Race boat's that will increase the wow factor. First will be the New JBS Extreme turbine, which will square off with the 44 MTI GEICO. The JBS Crew of Jeff Stevenson (Driver) and Joey Skrocki (throttles) will control their new 50Ft Mystic, with 2 T-53 turbines and BPM drives.
As well, Bob Bull of CMS fame has a new 48ft, MTI which debuted at the shootout, powered by Mercury racing 1200's they will go head to head with Dave Scott's Bud Light, as well as Mike Defree's "CRC" MTi and Bob Morgan's 40 Skater " Bad Moon Risen" In what will surely be a high speed spectacle.
In Super Cat 850, the points are tied up at 472 between Team CRC and Team WHM, And just 17 points back Team Shocker with Richie Prince (D) and Bob Bull (T)at 455. Team Celerity, Steve Page (D) and Joey Gratton (T) have had a tough season, but can still capture the 2009 High Points championship, As LOTO will be double points. Also competing Team Fury, with Guy Costa (D) and Ray Delaney (T), can play the spoiler, having not run the whole season with the Mercury 850 package. Also in the mix and playing spoiler will be D&M Motorsports, a home town favorite running a MTI, With Brian Haupt (D) and Dennis Hillhouse.
In Super Cat Light The battle of the Oils, will have another round as Team Peppers/Lucas oil, with Father/Son team George and Micheal Stancombe maintains a 5 point lead over, Quoting Mike, "5 points arent enough to lock it down, we need to get in front and stay in front" Team Amsoil with Paul Whittier (D) and Bob Teague (T) are looking to double up their points and claim victory. While Popeye's Wil Ros (D) and Stan " The Animal" Ware Plan on running spoiler and taking some glory away from the points leaders, and avoid a spinning,
Team Propstop, will also be gunning for the checkered and making statement in Cat light.
With Ray Contreras(D) and Mark Kowalski (T).
