1966 18’ Aqua Craft with 390 Ford power siting on a tandem trailer. This is your perfect non project lake and ski hot rod. Aqua Craft Boats are some of the nicest hulls manufactured in the 60’s and 70’s. Skip Volk was a racer who loved Ski Racing. His boats were designed for the sport and also endurance racing that was the rage in the time period. The boats were produced in Southern California. This boat was completely gone through in 2017. The boat was painted by Mike Minegar’s Auto Body in Boise,ID and the rigging was done by Jeremy Blake also of Boise. The steering is all brand new with stainless steel cable and pulley installed which replaced the single push/pull cable. (huge upgrade). The trailer was redone by Boise Spring Works and still has American 5 spoke mags. All wiring was done with new gauges and Battery replacement. It has beautiful all stainless steel gas tanks (18 gal per side) replacing the original fiberglass tanks. All aluminum was powder coated to match the exterior blue. It also has adjustable cavitation plates.
The enginer was built by Mulder’s Machine here in Boise. It’s a nice reliable piece that features and upgrade in camshaft and a complete Crane rocker arm assembly. Brand new carburetor and it starts like a dream. Brand new electronic ignition also. Nice aluminum intake that really helps the weight of the FE Ford. Motor probably has 40 hrs on it.
The paint job on the boat cost me 5600.00. It’s all done in PPG Basecoat. Clear coat. The shop used PPG Vibrance Clear.
This is a boat you can buy and go to the lake…it needs nothing but a new home. My kids are gone and the wife wanted a pontoon boat. That’s our speed now. Got a big dog that don’t fit in this boat.
Price is half what I have in the boat…but I knew that when I started this…
