Default Where to stay when visiting the delta

    Hi Everyone,

I am planning on spending the weekend boating in the delta and am looking for advice where to stay on Saturday night. We are planning on launching B&W but they are completely booked up this weekend. Are there any hotel that anyone can recommend with a boat dock? Also, any advice on places to to go?

    Thank you in advance,
    Mark

    Default Over-nighter.

Are you looking for a Hotel or will a Cabin do?
    Here are some ideas.
    www.sacdelta.com/marinas --- Lists everything.
www.snugharbor.net --- Cabins, dock and beach.
Tower park --- Launch, cabins and resaraunt.

    Good luck. Al

    Default Too many places.

The Delta is so big that one can not give directions via the internet. A map or a guide (another boater) are nearly mandatory.
A fun ride, that is easy to find, is a trip up river to Old Town Sac for lunch. It is an all day trip, so start early, by 10am. Have fun. Al

    Thanks Rocket-J,

I have a delta chart and GPS on my boat, so I should be good. I have spent some time in the delta in the past, just not in the last couple of years. Not planning on taking a trip up to Sac just want to stay in the delta and check out the sights. I am taking the wife (no kids this weekend) and another couple out and want to go to some places that are fun and lively. Used to go to Lost Isle in my college years and will probably drop by for old time sakes but I am curious if there is some where else that is recommended.

    Thumbs up My favorites.

Sugar Barge, at the west end of Franks track, has a nice bar and large patio deck on the upper level. They also have a nice indoor restaruant. The new owners have done a great job there.
The Outrigger in fun too, with it's outdoor bar and live band on the water. It is south of Rio Vista just inside from the main river, across from the county launch ramp. Good luck. Al

Thank you for the suggestions. I was able to get in on a cancellation at BW. Anything spectacular happening out in the delta this weekend?

    Thanks again!
