Lake Don Pedro day trip tomorrow, Saturday, June 1st
We are going to be out on Lake Don Pedro tomorrow for a short day trip to give the boat a Pre-Cat Attack check up to see if it still floats. It's been sitting in storage for the past 7-8 months (since Hooky Day) and I thought it might be a good idea to make sure it still runs before we tow it all the way up to Shasta for the Cat Attack weekend. Rocket-J and Loretta will be with us in their boat also along with some boating newbies from our car club. Are any other DLB'ers planning to be on LDP tomorrow? If so, hope to see you there. We should be launching at Fleming Meadows sometime around 11:15 or 11:30.
It was a beautiful day on LDP yesterday. The lake is down probably about 50' or so but there was still plenty of water. I was surprised that there weren't a whole lot of boats on the lake. I think most of the boats were fishing boats that we saw so the water was really nice and smooth with very few large rollers (from just a couple of wake boats we saw). The boat fired right up and it didn't sink, so I think it's ready for the Cat Attack weekend. I did get some knock indication after staying at WOT for 30 seconds or so. I suspect it's due to the 1/3rd tank of 7 month old gas mixed with the 2/3rds tank of fresh 91 but it could just be due to heat build up after being on it for awhile. I only burned up a 1/3 of a tank of gas, so we will see how it does at at Shasta with another dilution of fresh 91.
