Default Apology to the entire DLB...

I want to start of first by saying I'm sorry. Sorry for insulting you, for calling you names, for taking some jokes a little too far and most of all sorry for being an all around dickhead.
I'm not looking for a pitty party for me here but I would like to give you some insight as to maybe why I did the things I did. First off, I had a bad year boating. If it wasn't low water levels it was a breakdown. It just seemed to be one thing after another. That combined with the way the economy is now, financially I did not do as well as I have done in the past. I'm not even sure I will be able to keep my boat. These things over time start to eat at a man's soul and they made me very bitter. I think that bitterness rolled over on to the boards here and was aimed at you guys for no good reason.
I see the pictures of you guys on your lunch runs and I think to myself damn that looks like fun but instead I'm stuck here at home watching TV. For me, and I'm sure for a lot of you, Boating is not just a hobby but a passion and a lifestyle. So maybe to hide the pain of not being able to boat I went on the attack...I don't know.
Again, I apologize for my actions in the past several months and assure you it will stop in the future. I hope you allow me to go on one of your runs in the future (if I still have my boat). I'm already friends with a few of you guys, I won't mention any names for fear of retaliation from the rest of the group, but I would like to make more....and maybe even buy a few beers...or a few hundred. Sorry. Grads.

Grads you are not alone in your pain of broke boat stories, I for one can understand what that will do to a person. My boat broke two years ago at Cat Attack and sat for the rest of the year before I got it back together this spring. Took it out three times and broke the shit out of again. So it has sat again all summer. I still enjoyed my summer without being an ass to people. It has been said before and I am sure it will be said again, anyone and everyone is welcome to enjoy a day on the water anytime this group gets together.
Now as far as the coments over the past couple of months go, you will have to deal with that on a person to person basis. However I will say that this post of your is a good place to start.

Just remember this; The person makes the boat, the boat does not make the person. I look forward to seeing you on a run with us when ever you can make it, with or without your boat.

    Thumbs up Great News

We have all experienced the same problems with water levels, break downs, work and economy. The cost of running a boat is all relative to ones income and life style. One mans tank of fuel is another mans bar bill.
Many of us say the wrong things in type. The only way a man can get to know another is face to face. In my opinion, you are welcome to any of our runs.
Some of us try to "boat share" during these expensive times. Four of us take your boat this week and my boat next time. Or which ever one is running.
We will all be careful how we express ourselves.
See you on the water. Al

    Default Wow

I am almost shocked and wondering if this is a trap???? j/k

On a more serious note. Apology definatley accepted and greatly appreciated by me. It's a New Year and everyone deserves another chance. I think you'll find that most everyone (if not all) in this group will appreciate your apology and move forward. I know that reading your post definately humanized you for me. It takes a lot of character to do something like that, especially among piers. Everyone has enough worries in their lives to think about without feuding amongst ourselves. I for one would rather enjoy boating without the negativity. So thanks for your humble apology and as far as I am concerned you are always welcome at our events. Hope to see you out there on the water.

P.S. We have all been a BB at some point. That's the beauty of having quality friends like the folks in the DLB. We Never leave a pal stranded.

I'll take one of those beers also. But I will also agree that even chiot talkers are welcome.
My boats been broke since St. Patties day and I have been able to keep my smack strictly behind my buddies backs, not on the boards.

    See you on the water

Hope you are able to keep you boat, but as you already know you don't need a boat to be in this group. Hope to see you on the water in anything that floats. Way to take the high road Grads, now how about that beer boat bitch!

Show up at Orwood on the 2nd. We have never left a BB behind. However, I do own a garbage scow unlike most of the dlb and I’m still a little but hurt. So there is always a first for everything.
