    Lightbulb dlb History

I've only been on three runs with you guys, and I find myself wondering... How did this all get started? Was it originally two boats, then three, then five? How did the name come about? You are all a great group, great people. This just seems to be one of those really great things that happens on accident, where people bring what they have "on the table" and the combination of everyones input and attributes creates magic.

It would be great if some (or one) of the most seasoned dlb guys would write up a short, detailed, and interesting summery of how this all started and have it permanently placed in a sticky thread at the top.

    Just a thought. Guys? Gals?

Sup Hommie? Certainly Gals too. Np, I'd say you're seasoned, were you there for the beginning of it all? Or is there someone else more suitable to tell the story?

    Default Well this gal...

..remembers a certain lunch run abut 9 years ago with Hullshot at the wheel of his eliminator, Racer52, Boatmaster and I in the dead of winter, in full winter gear. I think that was one of my first introductions to "crazy" speeds on the water. I think we made it from our back yrd in disco to downtown Stockton for lunch in what felt like 12 minutes. LOL Good Times and lots of great memories. Im sure everyone has some of those stories and over time we all converged into this entity know as the dlb.

Well I was introduced the the group by D-Rat. I went out with hullshot in the red stoker. Focken shiat myself. Never went any faster than 80 on the water before that day. Well lets just say after that day we were in the 120s. And the story goes on...

Thanks to all of the dlb for the warm welcome to a unique group of people.....

Yes I remember that trip and many others like that. It good to see the same group of friends are still in it toghther and enjoying all the others that have enoyed many boating outings with us. This "dlb" group is a great group of recreational boaters that are friendly, will always lend a hand, or tools, or parts, or a ride to anyone who needed it. No one gets left behind in this group. Boater friends until the end!

    Cool Well here goes!

My brother Nice Pair and I have been running around the Delta about as long as the fish have. I think the first time we hooked up w/ the dlb pervformance boaters was Hookie Day 04. Everyone seemed like a big family. No one seemed concerned with what ya brung for a boat or even if ya had one at all. No big egoes and everyone pretty much looking out for each other and always quick to offer a helping hand. I've seen a lot of peeps jump in and make runs with us over the years and some join up (loosely). I've never seen anyone mistreated, dissed or treated any differently than you would treat a guest in your home. I consider the peeps I've met in the dlb to be my close friends and myself blessed to have them. Damn fine group

    Default Thank you Waffleman

I feel blessed to have met you and everyone else too. You are an asset in my life. A wonderful group of close friends.

Was the group called The Delta Lunch Bunch in '94? How did the name come about? How long had the group been running together at that time?

I think most of the peeps boated the delta and other places for years in smaller groups, finally hooking up as one over one of the Hookie Days or something like that. The dlb handle is relatively new (last few years) you would need to get one of earlier historians to fill in the blanks. I'm surprised more peeps haven't piped in as to when they personally made the hook-up but I know they are a quiet, reserved, shy bunch un-used to this kind of pressure You know who you are
