Its actually a paved road, pretty good for a stock truck with a little lift and/or biger tires. It is not plowed, and if you stay on the packed snow it can be done in a stocker. It runs all the way to around 7000 ft. elevation. There are some trails off the sides that are good for the bigger or more serious 4x4's. I usually drive up until we get stuck a few times and the bust out the BBQ and cocktails. Heres a couple pics from last few times..............

50 to Sly park rd. in Pollock pines, south on sly park to Mormon emigrant trail. I think it is about 2 hrs from disco.

So far I got a couple people meeting in Shingle springs at 8:30 sunday morning.

Is it just the camera angle and shadows, or are those drive shafts made of box tube? Now that's gangsta hill billie

Let me check the schedule for this weekend and get back to you. It'd be nice to get up there for the adventure, BBQ, cocktails, and awesome view. And the drive from Sac isn't all that bad either.

Big Joe had them custom made. They have a 1/2" pipe thread on each end so he can fill/mix and drink his famous Mai Tai's.
