Go to www.tahoeboatinspection.com. Drain water from block. Bilge must be totally dry. Lower your outdrive on tailer and get water out of exhaust housing. Try and get a dock or buoy. Search Craigslist or ask locals. Years ago I paid the bartender at Garwoods $$ for a buoy overnight in front of restaurant. They shuttle you via Inflatable. One year I kept my boat in marina South Shore near state line. I noticed lake is low yesterday. Be careful entering Emerald Bay which is a must visit spot. Visit Garwoods(home of the Wet Woody), Sunnyside(home of the Rum Runner). I chose not to re jet my 8 carbs(pain in ass), lowering pitch is a great idea. I didn't. I lost 10 MPH, but still had a blast? Two other words: Sun Screen!

Tahoe is great ! No matter how much you try and get your boat dried out they will find one damp spot and wash the whole thing so I suggest not wasting your time trying to dry it out. If you have a place to leave your boat on the water you only have to pay to launch once. Be aware that around 3pm- 6pm the waves with be severe, ( 3-5' ) It has to do with the temperature change and winds every day, so you may want to plan on being of the water or waiting it out at the bars. Have fun good luck we may see you up there on our annual trip

Lake Forest boat ramp in Tahoe city is free $10 parking on lake forest rd. next to the Coast guard station. when I go to Emerald bay I launch at Meeks bay it's cheep. Tahoe vista is $5 launch $10 parking. Garwood's is a must stop and has the closest to Valet parking, they will pick you up from there mooring buoys and drop off free. And the wet woody is to die for! Sunny side has great deep fried Zucchini also besides there rum runner. when we had our cabin there thats where we moored our boat.
When ever we would ski and beach it for the day on the east side like pebble beach(also known for nudist) I would head west by 2 pm, that's when the winds would increase every day. I have seen the coast guard tow in many swamped boats on Tahoe. One of few lakes that need a coast guard cutter. I have been caught out there in a 21' Cobalt and get my ass kicked trying to get back to sunny side.
