Default Discovery Bay to Half Moon Bay and back........

After Steve Sherman told me of his trip to Half Moon Bay in his 28, I knew I had to do it some day also. We left Saturday morning in the 30, stopped for lunch at Sam's in Tiburon and were inside the seawall at the harbor in Half Moon Bay by 1:00. The winds were fairly light but we still had a 1.5 meter (5') swell out in the open ocean, which kept us down to 70-80mph for everyone to be comfortable running the coastline. Pretty cool to leave the gas dock at Discovery Bay Marina at 10:00, go all the way down to Half Moon Bay after a nice lunch stop and still be back at my dock by 3:00. This will definitely be a run that I add to my list every year........

Lisa took a bunch of pics - but I haven't got them in my computer yet (these are just the ones she took on my phone). I don't know if any of them turned out though, as it's impossible to hold the camera still running 70-80 in five footers! It was a great day and I burned right about 170 gallons, as I was full (200 gallons) when we left, and I've probably only got about 15 a side left in the tanks. I haven't Google Earth'ed the distance of the run yet, but I'm pretty certain it was around 220 miles total - which puts my mpg right around 1.3. It doesn't do too bad, figuring we run 100-110 from Discovery Bay to Tiburon, then 70-80 down to Half Moon Bay and back to Tiburon, then kick it back up to 100-110 from Tiburon home.

I call it the brain tube, I've been telling her the more time she spends on it, the smarter it's going to make her.
