    Default It's Too Quiet....

Things are way too quiet around here, so quiet you can here crickets.
So who's doing what or has the economy really slowed us down this much?? It has really slowed me down thats why I now go R/C racing instead. Or is it just the cold weather and short days? I plan on doing nothing to my junk this year except for clean it, put gas in it, and possibly selling it..

The white Stoker upgrade is starting. I am starting small. Got a new in control shifter I am installing. Next up, I ordered the upgrade kit to turn my single ram hydraulic assist steering into full hydraulic double ram. Those parts should be in any day. Once I get the handling in order and my bank account fills back up it will be drive time. I think I might have a hairline crack in the gimball. I have found new merc. hp gimballs on OSO for $1850 pluss $80 for shipping. Drew has been keeping an eye out for stuff also. I still hope to have the drive complete by early to mid spring. So yes the economy has slowed me down but not stopped me. In previous years I would have allready had the drive done. So when is the next boat run? Even if the white boat is down, the yellow one is ready to run.

P.S. Don, if you sell, it better be just to get back into a smaller boat. I think Jackpunx has his boat back up for sale.

Glad to hear things are moving along. What ended up failing?

BTW I need to sell the vette before I lose my liscense. That thing is fun to drive. My brother-in-law repaired the seats, we re-programmed the key remotes and got it car smogged with no problems. Looking to put up for sale next week. Anyone interested in a fully loaded 1997 Corvette with 39,000 miles? It is almost perfect. I will take some pictures over the weekend.

Joe, still using the ram from the original system. Got ahold of WPM and was able to put together a helm, lines, and a second ram for a pretty good deal. Got the shifter done last night. It is good I decided to do this. I am getting a better idea of where all the stuff; ie. wiring and such, goes. Tore out the cable steering out last night. The cable was kinked and shot. I am in the process of cleaning up all the wireing and prepping for steering parts. If the steering stuff gets here this weekend, then that boat should be up and running by Monday. If no parts then the yellow boat is getting a new starbord tank. It has a little drip of a leak, and I just happen to have a spare tank. Keep on wrenching boys. Don, you deserve another Stoker.

there is a possibility .. but very slim.... I have washed back and fourth over selling.. pretty much decided not to.. for a few reasons.. selling it for 1/2 of what I got into it is not very attractive.... will probably never build another boat like that again(that project was from the single days) lol.... And Al would never let me hear the end of it if I didn't sell it to the right person as its a little on the extreme high performance side of most boats.. Although..if that day came.. Don would be on that very short list of people..
I was at Havi this weekend for DS.. everyone was trying to talk me into the kilo run.. The water was nice.. I think I could have pulled some numbers.. Not sure my head is into going 130+++++++ in a 22' boat anymore.. but.. We'll see next year
