Default West Franks Tract navigation please help

We are having a company picnic on the Delta at New Life Marina and staying in the cabins they have. New Life is on Middle River west of Franks Tract and south of False River. I know there is a rock wall/damn on False River so you can't go west out to San Joaquin River. Can you take Middle River north, from False River, thru Fishermans Cut and up to SJR ?? I have never been thru there on Middle River. Are there 5 zones etc ? I know my way around the outside of Franks Tract pretty well and don't mind doing that but thought Middle River might be something different and check it out. Thanks for any input. We will be doing a bbq at the cabins Sat afternoon and steaks and chicken on the grille Saturday night. Most of you are welcome to stop by if in the area.

Im assuming "New Life" is Mariners Cove Marina? which is what it shows on the maps.

If you're coming from B&W - then come in just like you would going to Rusty Porthole but turn right at the post and stay along the south shoreline around to JackAss Point. Head into Middle River going south there. Then you wont hit any 5mph to get there.

If you come in from the south and go all the way up Taylor Slough to Middle River then its all 5 mph, boathouses and marinas all the way in.

Im coming out to meet up with you guys for Saturday afternoon BBQ, let me know what I can bring.

Yes, New Life either used to be Mariners Cove or they are beside each other. I understand about all of those points, thanks. I'm asking if you can go north on Middle River from False River and go up to SJR?

I havent ever been up that straight north/south portion of Middle River. We normally go out the east/west line to SJR and cross over to 3 mile slough around the Outrigger to the SAC River.

The only rock dam that I found posting on "Middle River" is:

    Middle River.

This is located on Middle River about 500 feet upstream of Hwy 4 and typically goes in place starting in early April. Removal begins in late Nov. and is completed by Nov. 30. It does not have a retrieve/launch service. (It should be noted that this waterways in only marginally navigable, especially for larger, deep-draft craft. So use caution.)

I know for sure there is a rock damn/wall that one of our gov't agencies built across False River west of Franks Tract. It closed the "short cut" from Franks Tract to SJR headed west to Antioch bridge. I think Rayzor had a thread about it. I may just check out Middle River and report back.

Had a great time showing my employees around the Delta a bit. Cabins were perfect location just off fast water on Middle River and you tie your boat off to the cabin or just in front of them.

Middle river running straight north/south from False river is a fantastic shortcut up to SJR if u are going from Porthole to anywhere west of Spindrift on SJR. There is one very quick 5 zone but only +/- 30 seconds of 5mph. The cabins allow pets and the people who run it could not have been anymore accommodating, even offered a covered slip but I declined since the boat was right in front of our cabin. Breakfast at Porthole with all of my employees was fantastic and even saw Big Steve & War Canoe there. Saturday morning I got to run with Rayzor for a bit since he had 3 girls in the 28 and wouldn't run past 85 I was able to keep up.
