    Default Charity Chili Cook-off 9/10/11

    To all the DLB gang.
We are putting on a Chili Cook-off to raise money for Vets with PTSD. It will be at Club Auto Sport in San Jose on Sat. 9/10/11. This is a great cause to support.
First place wins $500, second $300 and third $100. The winner qualifies to go the the International Chili Society World Champiomships for a chance to win $25,000.
Any first time cook can have a copy of my Championship Chili recipe. It has won a lot of money over the years. That ought to be a great incentive if the Charity for Vets isn't enough.
PM me or contact Sherene at 209-981-1782.
See you there or on the water. Al

Good cause...... I may even enter the bike if I read the flyer correct. You should reach out to PTC as well. Both him and his wife ride. He has a sweet Wide Glide if it isn't sold yet.

Cool No Chili, No Chit. Canceled........... Show and Shine is still on. .. Bring the Bling

I have bad news for all of you.
The Chili Cook-off has been canceled due the the cost of compliance with the Food and Fire rules of the City of San Jose. The last straw was the requirement of each contestant to get a food preparation license with the city. Our cost per contestant has exceed $500 per entry and there is no way we can raise money for a Charity at that cost. We tried to get enough sponsors to offset the expense. The effort is futile. The City is grossly out of reason. Your entry fee will be retuned to you who have paid. If you don’t see it soon, let me know. I will personally return it to you. I am so sorry to have to do this. Our promoter is out a great deal of money, but less than if we continue.
Live and learn. Our Nations economy has created monsters out of good Cities.
    Sincerely.
    Al Rock

Typical bureaucratic, political BS to try and "EARN" moneys to pay their own wages to keep their UNNECESSARY government jobs....

This is the mindset that drives business' and people from this entire state, and they dont even CARE that they are doing it.

    What a WASTE!

Default Maybe try Fremont for Cookoff(s)

I attend the Niles Rotary's Annual Chili Cookoff, held at the SaddleRack Parking Lot. See attached Chili Recipe. I have NEVER heard of the City charging for the Event. If your interested, I can put you in touch with the Organizers at Rotary who deal with it yearly?!?
