All it's done is rain- yesterday we went out and ran for awhile- the north end of the lake was brown with runoff. As I got closer to Buffalo Shoals Road (one of the few roads across the lake) the debris got so bad I turned around and went back south. We watched the radar on our phone and decided that heading back home was wise.
Got back, covered the boat, headed into the house- and the bottom fell out. Rained for about 30-45 min then quit.
We piled back in the boat, went to dinner, stopped and saw some old friends on their dock, then headed back again...hit the ramp about dark as the fireworks were starting. Got trailered, pulled in the driveway, and the bottom fell out again!
I'm not known for having good timing, but....
Now I'm sitting here looking at the lake as the rain falls (again) and watching the water rise OVER my dock....
Now I hope you arent down here dealing with this yourself!
WE hit the lake today about 230 and watched lightning dance over the skyline to the south. We evaded getting hit with much rain until about 5pm, ran in and out of it. Headed north to the 150 bridge launch area, by Queens landing, and decided to call it quits. Where are the islands or sandbars where boats hang out?
We stayed in today. I just went to the office for a while and messed with one of my boat resto projects back in the shop. Sloppy weather.
Where everyone hangs out... Well, I can't say for sure but you'll probably find them around the restaurants on the lake. There's some spots on some shoals down on the south end- usually they're easy to spot but with the water so high I'm not sure if they'd be usable. Check on Boatfreaks - Powered by vBulletin because there's a lot of the high speed/poker run guys on LKN that are on that board.
What boat did you bring down? I'll have to watch for it.
