I was new to this type of event. It was a great learning experience.

Special thanks to Phil who walked a rookie like me thru it.

The little efforts and monies it took me to attend payed very handsome.

I got to see lots of people i already knew and took the opportunity to meet some new ones.

The food was reasonable, varied, avalialable and good, just as i was told.

The staff, as far as i could tell, were knowledgable and attentive to safety and the participants needs.

I was initially kind of lost with all the boats and people...but upon seeing and speaking with some people i knew, Phil's advice, Sunkist who 'knew the ropes' and Donnie to keep me calm...i finally got somewhat relaxed.

I had several opportunities to observe the seemingly slow pace paying off, ultimately, in a safe operation. I did learn a lot, not the least of which is that 'racing' is different than 'boating'. Both Teri (so she says, to my surprise) and i came home with the feeling we had a great time.

I felt like Phil payed me special attention (i needed it) but i know he did not. Lots of people needed help and advice and he accomodated all of them.

I got the chance to show and run my shit and make the best of it.

Oh yeah...it aint no fun loosing a race, especially when you feel that you could have done better by just being calmer. I still had a great time. I still have lots to learn and enjoy.

Thanks to the RRBA for another memorable event.
