Default MSD needs your input on survey and possibly win $100

For years, MSD has made a name for itself in the automotive world of high end performance products. Many on this forum may already use one of their UL approved marine ignition systems. Recently MSD has expanded to make a kit that converts carbureted engines to fuel injection with the new Atomic EFI system. This system is easy to install and offers many technical advantages over a carburetor setup.

This system is currently designed for automotive use only. However MSD has approached you, our forum members, in hopes of learning more about the marine market and how users might view such a system if it were made applicable for marine use.

Please click on the URL and fill out the survey.

MSD Performance - Marine Atomic EFI

Your input will have direct impact on how MSD proceeds with this system.

Well since I don't currently own or operate a carbureted boat, I can't participate but I would have liked to have seen the parameters of the survey. My response would probably be considered more political, but IMO (if) this is another Chinese import venture, I hope it has a higher reliability rate than their ignitions have seemingly had since they went "overseas". As an engine builder, I have a hard time recommending MSD as a first choice these days. It's a global market today and I understand the competitive need for overseas production, but not at the expense of the quality or reliability of the product. I see some assembly and testing are done in Texas.
As far as the injection system, throttle body injections and their benefits have been around a long time. This one seems a little "gimicky", and it may have limited use/popularity given it's HP rating. It should at least be dual quad capable.

While the location of where we manufacture products was not really the point of the market research we are doing I would like to address it. The vast majority of what we make is manufactured right here in Texas. While we do source some of our products overseas it is primarily limited to our budget priced HEI (Street Fire) distributor and some coils. All of our race and street performance ignitions are manufactured from start to finish in our El Paso, TX facility. I have included a link that gives a plant tour that will show a bit of what our facility is all about. If you have had durability issues with our products we are certainly willing to address and hopefully resolve them for you.

Regarding the Throttle body system, we appreciate your comments and will consider them when making a decision about building this product. Comments from potential customers or anyone with a valid opinion are always welcomed.

    Thank you,
    Mike

Well that could put some of the rumors to rest
I'd agree with you, but then we would both be wrong

MSD would like input from a few more of our members and has upped the prize to $100.00.

    Thanks
