i run hydrualic cams in my engines, and am getting ready to install a new 305h comp cam in my 468 bbc, i usually run up into 6000 or better rpm range in my jet boat, what i am wondering is what lifter i should be running in your opinion? summit has told me to run howards lifters, and jegs has told me to run comp pro magnums, any thoughts? i also heard that rhodes lifters were the best, ??????????

I think 90% are made by the same company. Most offshore. I have used a lot of Crane and Crower with no problem. I can not keep up with what is made where. I like to buy American when I can. Unless it is a company ran by Labor Unions.

And not all GM have the line on them. Have got a box of 16 and some had it and others did not. All in the same box.

Your rolling the dice I don't care what hyd flat tappet you use. But the Delphi is in IMHO your best bet.
Yes magoo, the sbc and the bbc use the same flat tappet lifter.

X2 on that. These days I wouldn't run a flat tapped unless it was absolutely mandated by rules.

Having said that...I'd stay away from Comp. Crower, Isky, both seem to be good these days. If you go solid FT their EDM lifters are a great choice.

FWIW I was told by the guy that grinds my cams that Howards are the only way to go! I have built 3 chebys with a hyd flat cam and no issues as we speak over 100 hrs each. I put a solid roller in my personal boat and used Howards solid roller followers on that and could not complain or find a reason to!!! Their non roller lifters are alittle spendy but how many times do you want to wash a block and whats your'e time worth? The money spent was worth it and I will never go elsewhere! Great people to work with also. Also my roller followers were less expensive than any where else and looked alot like what saw in every web-site I checked??? M
