Like Ed said...I'll do a build thread, just been very busy. This is a really nice engine...Dart, Bryant, Oliver, JE, T&D, etc...all the really nice stuff. It'll be a nice build write-up with lots of pics. :thumb:

You have it easy Steel. Bill tells me he thinks the engine needs a "tune up" and I am thinking "what, spark plugs?"

I arrive this morning in Havasu to see this. We leave Weds mornig for Idaho, and the heads are out getting a shave.
I guess "tune up" has totally different meanings to owners and drivers.
I didn't sign on for this!!!!!

Are you kidding me Ed? First HE supplied the sticker, I only put on what he sends me.
He rates 2, count them 2 spots on the boat, AND one of them is the first sticker across the finishline.
I'll be the first to say Steel has treated me right, done top notch( read: insanely anal) work.

snout dimension

Beautiful lookin mota there. Lookin forward to the build thread and results. I'm sure it will make all involved proud.
Could you guys help me out with a dimension? What is the distance from the motor mount flange to the face of the crank trigger and then overall dimension. I want to ensure I have sufficient clearance from my new back seat to the end of the snout when the motor finally gets placed.

Thanks,
Warren

Warren, can you be more specific about what you mean by "motor mount flange"? I'm glad to give you any measurements you need. Oh, and thanks for the compliment.:)hand

m.m flange

Thanks Scott, I was referring to the machined surfaces at the 4- 7/16-14 threaded bolt holes cast into the front of the block where one would bolt up a front motor plate. Hell even the t-cover flange face would suffice as I don't intend to have it that close, just don't want to give up 3" of the 12" for total back seat leg room in this ol' cruiser by guestimating and erroring to the safe side. Thank you. Now about that badazz mill..........

It's 9.25" from the front of the block at those four pads, to the front of the blower pulley.
Following Sleeper's suggestion, I'll start another thread on the build. :))THumbsUp

Dang you must have little bitty hands.

OK so that took you until noon. Whats in store for the rest of the day.:wink2:

Definitely removed some material from the port dividers!

You probably make a pretty good living just from the recycling of the aluminum.

So the pushrods are set to be delivered tomorrow:happy:, And hopefully the final touches will be done:thumb:.....so nobody bug Scott Tomorrow:54:..it's going to be an emotional moment for Scott when I load up the motor and try to pry his hands off the motor at the same time..:bananadance:

Its just your typical postpartum depression. A good diet, group support, and alittle pyschotherapy can be helpfull. Keep a close eye on him. If it worsens, may need some fluoxetine, but lets hope it doesn't come to that.
BTW Ed, your friendship may never be the same due to this, but you'll get over it once your flying across the lake.;)

Scott, it's not my bday yet and blower should appear about that time...But don't let that stop anything...the final bolt-on stuff will happen here... I have plans for my B-day weekend...it has something to do with my motor, blower and CMI exhaust:rolleyes:..and Shannon will be the final touch:happy:

So it's getting close for the wrap up before we bring the motor home and put on the rest of the stuff (blower and fuel system) Scott put in the finishing touches on the intake and ignition..so tomorrow I'm off to Teague to pick up fuel line and fittings, then to ARP for some few bolting items...you could sense the tone in Scotts voice:)eh:)...he really doesn't want this motor to leave (or he really wants my engine stand):hmmm:...
GN7..you better be there for group support...Scotts going to need it...but then again, he might be happy it's gone so he has room for the next project;)
