    What is a good site to look up casting numbers for BBC's? Cant find mortec anymore.

    That is a 69, 396 c.i. it comes in 2 or 4 bolt mains. Hope this helps

    Not to jack my own thread, but will early 70s 454 heads,intake dist. pan,and timing cover bolt on to this shortblock?

    Look at the side of the flywheel flange on the back of the crank, you can see the parting line there .
