    Is your blower dragging again?

Sell the 16v battery and buy a 12 volt Tilton. My answer Tilton is what we run.. Lots of starter grief before shelling out for it.

ran a tilton 15 years with no problems. it finally started to go away. now running a ron cook 2.6. had ron go through the tilton. it's now the spare. ron's starters work well, and the 2.6 will spin your engine... he is in parker az. 928-669-6411 just talked to him so i know the number's current...

Loose one race because of the starter and it's justified.

We run Ron's staters. I think the 2.6 would start a fueler. Never had a reason to return one.

    TRUE!

changing one in a pinch is a headache that I want to avoid almost at all costs, one bolt is on a tunnel, motor needs a little lift to get the bolt out, not a big deal, but dont want to be worrying about it at a race.

there's a little bit of solution to that problem. if it's sitting on the tunnel, can be solved. lifting the engine just enough to change starters isn't that big a deal. having it go south on sundays is not good. i've never lost a race due to a bad starter (knock knock on wood), but i've watched others get towed off the rope in eliminations because of it.

ron's starters are not quite as costly as meziere or tilton. but they work. ron's an old comp hydro guy from the old days when comp hydro was a badass class.

If you know a good machine shop you can machine the pad shorter where that bolt is so you can get to it. Or put a stud in that hole mill a relief slot so the starter can drop some and pull straight out.
