    Default Nelson 540...Gen2

I'll be doing a rebuild on Nelson's 1020hp pump gas 540 this winter and wanted to start with posting the results of re-porting the heads. The minimum area in the port stayed the same. Different valve job, and significant short turn and bowl work.
No porn, but just wanted to throw up some new flow numbers:
    Ports are aprox. 330cc
    2.3" x 1.88" Ferrea, 32*bc
3.30" min. area at the P/R
    91% throat, 45* valve job
    S/T 1.110" off the deck
    .50" Clay radius

    Old numbers:

    .2 148 / 146 / 107
    .3 221 / 218 / 147
    .4 286 / 283 / 187
    .5 336 / 322 / 226
    .6 372 / 352 / 255
    .7 390 / 372 / 278
    .8 384 / 384 / 295
    .9 --- / 390

    New Numbers:

    .2 166.3 / 164.8 / 113.1
    .3 244.3 / 243.8 / 165.8
    .4 306.2 / 303.6 / 200.9
    .5 351.7 / 330.4 / 250.2
    .6 382.0 / 353.8 / 279.8
    .7 402.5 / 378.2 / 299.8
    .8 413.4 / 394.3 / 317.2
    .9 420.7 / 405.5 / 327.0
    1 427.6 / 415.2

Still working on the left port...hoping to be able to bring it more in line with the right. We'll probably digitize this right port and keep it on file.

We're going to increase compression, obviously change the cam, run some more boost and run on av gas. It's also now 548ci. That should wake it up some.

Are you going to share the cam spec.s with us, because I have a blown,(10:71), 548 with Canfield heads, (350 cc intake ports), and I feel like my cam is not ideal.

Geez, you didn't say you found numbers like that when you said to sent the heads back!
Or are these only for the "insiders"

Pretty impressive gains for a head that was pretty damn good to begin with.

We would need accurate flow numbers from your heads.
