    Default Megasquirt 3 PRO

So I didn't post anything because it wasn't public knowledge when I told about dynoing my procharged 502, but much of the reason I dynoed was because I was doing beta testing for megasquirt/diyautotune on the new MS3pro. It is a completely sealed, MS3 unit, ampseal connectors, ready to run. I was very excited to here about this development, as it is perfect for the boat world! Here is a link to a nice write up on the features.

Did it perform better than the Procharger?

Took a picture here at PRI. It's running a display setup while in the tank.

That's awesome that they have a sealed case and connections now.
I remember the older units were more of a DIY type.

What does that newest model cost ?
Can it run 8 LSx coils ?

Yep, it has 8 logic level ignition outputs which control LSx coils, it can run up to 12 cylinder sequential fuel, table switching, table blending, launch control, nitrous control, boost control, anti lag, traction control....you name it, and it can probably do it.

Pricing looks to be about $1100-1200 with the harnesses. They should be available January 1st.

This is the tablet, Bluetooth data logger...it's logging the outputs of the box in the background being run on the megastim, which is used to test the box and all the outputs and inputs.

Tell me more about the bluetooth datalogger.
What distance will it record from ? I take it ignition noise is not a problem ?
A problem I have with datalogging on the FAST XFI is that after I record it and it's in the ECU I can't play it back without hooking the laptop to it and in the bright sun it's nearly impossible to read. Then I have to put a towel over my head and the laptop and I look like some arab dude.

I usually end up recording a run and waiting until I'm home in the garage to play it back.

    Default Sequential info?

    Morning Andrew,

The peek-n-hold box, is that for running the low res. injectors in sequential ? Can you explain what the other boxes/equipment are for you have mounted in the picture?

    I dig it

The MS3pro is setup with saturated injector control. 3 yrs ago when I bought my injectors I purchased 135lb low impedance. The box is a peak and hold injector driver. It is also a prototype box that diyautotune designed. They are making one or two small changes then will offer it to the public. Something like this works great for the huge 225lb or 500lb low impedance monster injectors. It's does that way to make the actual PCM so small and cool.

The other parts are a fuse block for my injector power, ignition main powers, fuel pump power, 12v to cam sensor, O2 sensor power and injector driver box power. Those are all activated by the 70 amp relay which is controlled by the fuel pump output on the MS3pro. Then I have 12v key switch that gives power to the MS3pro and 12v to the 70 amp relay.

I also have a GM map sensor mounted on there (no onboard map for the MS3pro as its sealed)

    The MS3pro is there obviously

And I have a 2nd mini fuse block which will be for the small powers for the MS3pro and relay power.

Thanks, I saw the map, and the relay sockets, the other had me stumped. Thanks for the answers. Looking forward to how it all works. Before the peak-n-hold package, how did one run the low res injectors?

Mark, right now there is not playback on it. It's in the works though along with tuning. Right now it is primarily used as a dashboard logger. So you open it up, it automatically syncs and starts a datalog, no buttons or setup, just starts.

Then when you are done it loads to a site where you can store the logs and download for viewing and modify the tune later.

It will be pretty short amount of time before immediate playback happens then tuning changes will happen shortly after that all Bluetooth tablet or phone. (android) I know that because I have been talking to the designer/code writer for it here at PRI.

Many people are using these now for gauge clusters, it integrates the tablet gps and accelerometers to the datalog also. It will soon be setup for mapping lap times, fuel mileage...it already displays speed...it's pretty sweet. And once you have an MS product it's only about $100 to setup the Bluetooth and cost of an android tablet.

There are some expensive resistors you can buy to put in series, but the driver is the best way to control low impedance injectors because you get the true max power to output then reduced power to hold open, which is what they are designed to do.
