    Default 496 bbc cam help

Ok cleaning out garage and found some new old parts .
Have enough parts to put together a 496 tall deck bbc with 6.8 rods (short block)
also found a comp 290hr kit (must off been a good deal don't remember buying it )and
a comp solid roller custom grind 739/715 lift 252/260 duration on 113 lobe separation
Will either of these work in a jet boat application . Have a couple of choices on heads laying around
ProAction 320's and dart 305's . Trying to reuse some of this instead of buying more if I can
    Thanks

Default WOW so many views and no input. I'll stick my neck out...

Without doing further research into the cams you mentioned, they don't occur to me as ultra outrageous, nor super conservative.

Either of those cams will spin a jet jump just fine.

For optimum performance, ya just have to choose an impeller to match the rpm at which peak HP occurs.

The meat and potatoes of the conversation lies, however, in the intended use of said jet.

The solid roller is a little big for anything running on pump gas. It looks to be geared towards a blower.

    Good point

A pump gas 496 with the Comp 290HR and Dart 305's is not a poor combination of "parts on hand" by any means.
