    Default Lil 350 project

Hey guys, Been laidoff for awhile, and been working on a small project in the garage, here's a lil vid I made for my nephew in North Carolina. Not real good, was raining, dark and cold. I just finished up my short block build on the motor......SBC 350, 10:1, Alum Heads ZZ4, Comp Cam, rollers, roller rockers, Air Gap Intake, 750 Holley DP....Fuel pump.....It should be a good runner after I get some kind of a tune on it......too cold now....Happy New Year Guys......

    Nice job!

What power valve are you running in the carb and what fuel pump did you end up with? I assume there isn't any oil issue with it thus far, nor should there be in the future.

Congrats on a job well done.

Thanks. Job went well. Hardest part was removing the bumper to take the front grill off, then cutting a brace out to install the cam....not to mention installing the beehive springs. Pv is a 4.5. had a 6.5 in it. Cam overlap is a lot....Vacuum is on the lowside. Test ride went well....lots of power at half pedal.....found out I needed Traction bars bad.....Installed old school Lakewoods.....The look I wanted....Love that old school look. Must be getting old!!!!! Lol Pump is a edelbrock mech....same one I removed, but new.....Dewey

Good shit. Was lookin at the vac gauge in the video, 7-8" at idle... and just wanted to check. Seems like you have a good idea of what needs to happen to make 'er run good.

    Beastie little idle!

    Again, congrats.

What CompCam did you go with? I have poured over the specs of all of the Xtreme(s) lately, as I have used them in three of my latest motors. Make that four.

Thanks Seth, Yes, After some seat time, it should be a good runner. Test drive had my 350 turbo trans hitting (chriping tires) while in drive.....3 speed.....never did that before....

I cheated!!!!!! LOL I followed a build in Carcraft Magazine......I used their parts list....was a 410 hp build....The only piece I didnt use.....was a single plane intake.....I used a dual plane....better intake for my app. I think hp wise....it was better all around....Edelbrock RPM Air Gap...Very nice intake.....Cam was........dont laugh.....Comp Thumper.....With the 1.6 roller rockers..App. .536 intake - .520 exhaust @ 102 CL......... I also, rebuilt the distributor, added a adj vacuum adv can, with springs and things......These parts and build woke this 350 up big time......no tune on it yet either.....should get better.....
