Default Twin PFM 460 Ford shutting down at 3,000 rpm and 10lbs of Boost

Been working on a 73 Hallet 21ft DC. Went out for first run this weekend and when the boat hit 3,000 and 10lbs it just shut off. I believe this to be a problem with the pressure restriction parts in the inter cooler Sorry I don't know what they are called. Anyway, there are two 1/4 in ports on the side of the inter cooler which I'm guessing control this. however, I don't know where to hook them up. I hooked them up to manifold vc/ pressure (no luck) then to carb vac on metering block (no luck). Any help would be great. I have attached pics in an effort to make clear what I have.

    Thanks a bunch,

I am not sure what those parts are inside the 'intercooler' but I would question the efficacy of that setup.

The last time I had a situation like you describe, it was because the bowls weren't able to keep up. I changed over to the large regulator and it seems to have helped.

I don't have any experience with a set-up like that, never even seen one before.

There are a couple camera angles that could help me make sense of it. I'd like to see the big end of that plug/shuttle/thingy, and also inside the mouth of the elbow where it travels.

Also, when you say it just shut off, do you mean it just shut off... like, Ka put? Like you turned the key off, kind of off?

I thinking after the first reply, that one of the issues was the bowls running dry. That may account for the quick shut down. However; it is very coincidental that with stronger springs in the inter-cooler thing, the motor shut down at 15lbs and 3,000rpm, but with the lighter springs, the motor shut down at 10lbs at 3,000. Fuel delivery will be increased but I still need an answer on where the little 1/4 nipple things go. No one seems to know. Hard to believe with all the smarter than me guys on this site. Thanks much for the reply

It's usually because it is going suddenly lean. Not slowly lean to hurt parts, suddenly lean.
