    Default RAJAY TURBO question

    RAJAY TURBO?

I have been trying to learn more about the Rajay turbos.

I have a Race Aero turbo set-up on a BBC 454, and have been trying get a handle on the various sizes that were made and how to determine that by the Model number.

Is there a chart that explains how to compare the sizes from their Model number? It appears the Rajay company was bought and sold several times, and in some cases the different companies designated certain sizes using different model numbers even though they were essentially the same turbo as another model.

It also appears the model numbers changed based on whether they were for the automobile and commercial market, while at the same time a different designation was used for the aircraft usage models.

I am trying to obtain the correct model and size for my usage with a 454 BBC.
I plan to use a model 301 E 10 Rajay, but don't know if there is another model that is an equivalent.

    How does the models 3AA1EE76bl and the 370 E 70 compare to the 301 E 10?

Does the number 76 following the EE mean the A/R is .76 and the 70 Following the 370 E designate A/R 70?

You are correct about the last number being the housing size. The 301 E 10 was what Gale Banks, and I think Race Aero and PFM were all using on 454 engines. When a few guys started running the Banks systems on larger cubic inch engines (at the time 496), they would use a 1.3 housing, or 301 E 13

Someone had posted some comparison information recently.

Based on the above, what would be the max cubes you could run with the 301 E 10's on a Banks setup? Just curious, thanks.
