    Default 460 head question

    I found out from the machine shop that both my heads were cracked.. soo where can i get new iron heads or do i just cough up the money and get alanaum heads... and if iron where at? i had seen i could get heads from oreilly auto parts that were like 250 with everything on them... I gotten a new cam i am going to put in also. heres a few specs on the camlunati Bare bones cam. Hydraulic flat tappet valve-> hyd(--space--) rpm range-> 1500-5500(--space--) duration adv->in-270(--space--)duration adv->ex-280(--space--) duration @.050 -> in-.543(--space--) duration @.050 -> ex-.574(--space--) lobe sep.angle -> 112degrees(--space--) The springs are Launati 1.50" valve spring kit (--space--) spring type-> single w/damper (--space--) outside diameter-> 1.5 in (--space--) inside diameter-> 1.086 in (--space--) seat load -> 120lbs @ 1.820in (--space--) open load -> 315lbs @ 1.250 in (--space--) coil bind -> 1.130in (--space--) spring rate -> 342lbs/in (--space--) Thanks for the help.. PS I HATE how this thing took out all my nice evenly spaced post and returns to all one big sentince... wtf.. :/BUT thanks for any help... i put the (--space--) in there so you would know what goes where

    That camshaft will not work with OEM heads unless the valve guide bosses are machined down on the valve train side. Otherwise, you will experience retainer-to-guide clearance problems/engine damage.
