Default GEN V intake gasket question..Calling Experts

My friend bought a turnkey 454 Gen V block to put in his jet, took the electronics off, put a 80's model factory intake (spread bore), he used factory intake gasket (#90665)
I was informed that we may have an issue with water not traveling throughout the block and heads correctly? heating issue? I was not around during installation, also intake seems to be from the 80s? do we have a problem or not, would like some info on correct gaskets, if we have to pull it, I will not be putting that lo-rise factory cast intake back on, headache for throttle linkage and cable.

Can't possibly be any problem water from block to heads due to intake gaskets.

curious about water going in and out, in at the water pump and out at the t-stat, something about Gen 5 blocks having different head gaskets to allow different water travel, and the intake allowing water to go from head straight to t-stat housing, to clarify water going in and going straight up and out, no circulation?

Water goes in the water pump holes to the back of the block. Up into the head and then forward. Up and Out the intake in the front. Some weep holes block to head in the center. Size depending on head gsket.

Very few cross over in the back but if they do it just equalizes, doesnt go anywhere.

Led, Its not an intake gasket issue. Its a head gasket issue. You confusing the MKIV head gasket on a GEN 5&6. The GEN 5&6 head gaskets are closed on one end to block off a water port at the front of the block that doesn't exist on the MKIV block. I you use a MK IV gasket in a GEN, much of the water entering the block will go straight up into the head, then manifold and out and not circulate thru the engine.
You can use GEN head gaskets on a MKIV, but you can't use MKIV head gaskets on a GEN.
