Default Blown Gas to Inj. Alky ??

Is it feasable to just pull my gas carbs and bolt on say a alky Birdcatcher setup and use my Elect fuel pump to feed the 80a pump instead of having to install gravity feed tanks ....just thinking out of the box ..I have (2) 250gpm elect pumps that are also alky compatable installed now ...thats why I'm thinking of this scenario

Curious to hear some resonse on this as I was thinking about that very same thing just last week. That is how we modified an old box style bronco to run a EFI 5.0 motor (low pressure pump by the tank to feed the high pressure pump by the fuel rails) and it works well.

enderle pumps like the gravity to help and his highly recommended, but not always a must, lots of drag cars without complete gravity tanks.....no expert, just my .02.

what i would do it get u a 3-5 gallon bullet tank, feed it to the 80A, if its a lake/race deal, what we did was fill saddle tanks with alky and used an electric pump to pump into the bullet tank.

just figured if I force fed the suction side on the 80a at 4# (?? ) regulated from elect. pump how would the 80a pump know the difference ?? as long as it had a steady un-restricted suppy ?? Would this not be actually better than relying on gravity ?
Just asking honestly , I have no idea if anyone has tried this in a boat before and yea it would be for lake /sustained run usage

an 80a will flow at different GPM, u can try it, but i would set the e-pump regulator at more than 4, to protect lean on the big end, your barrel valve should return extra fuel at lower rpms

GN should be here any minute, to make it clear as mud.

a 3-5 gallon bullet tank would only cost a few hundred bucks, think i paid 300 for my 8 gallon and had extra bungs welded in

Going from gas to alky is a night and day difference. I've heard its like the first time you spray with nitrous.

I do kind of like the side tank thing fed by a traditional pump because one of the biggest issue I was having is an 80A-0 pump flows like 4 gpm or 240 gph at 4000 rpm... and to get an eletric pump to keep up with that is not the cheapest thing to do. But like you said as long as you have a return system and put the regulator inline after the -80 pump I don't see why it would not work. The lines would also have to be large enough to handle what the -80 requires, but with pressure on your side that is a plus. Then where would you return the MFI fuel? To the bottom of the -80 pump?

Well identical is not the right word to use here.... Cause you can run way more boost with the Alky, and hence its not identical. What is your CR?

It could be made to work but it will be hard. The electric pump will seep trough the injection pump at idle/ low rpm.

I've ran 13:1 & 38 psi but the tuning window is small.
