Default Lose distributer on a Vortec 350?

As I was replacing the cap and rotor on my carbed Vortec I happened to peer down at the timing cover and notice the built-in crank sensor and got to thinking...GM started with a good idea, but then bailed and still included a distributer with these engines. What is needed to convert it over to all electronic and ditch the distributer? Is there an oil pump drive shaft kit for going distributerless?
