    Is this normal or what is the cause ? The clean section.

    You're running pig fat. The clean area is from fuel wash. I imagine you know what caused the black.

    Between running rich, and the cooling effects of that, along with it being in a boat, and the added cooling of that, possibly timing that is a little retarded from ideal, flame can also never make it that far back in the quench area before it gets snubbed out.

    Yeah, you can sometimes tell a 4.5+ bore needs some chamber work when the thing gives up gaining power with timing before it should. It just goes flat before actually starts losing power due to too much lead.
