Default big block in a ski boat

I had buddy come to me with a problem with his ski boat he said it had a cracked block and pulled the motors out so i built him bored 30 over 454 to put back in it.

I told him a wanted the old motor even though it was cracked so he brought it to me keep in mind this is a 1989 mastercraft with a indmar engine. I got to pulling it apart and found it my buddy jumped the gun it had a blown out intake gasket. But heres the crazy thing got to looking in the engine it has 188 square port heads really nice heads,7416 forged steel crank, closed chamber domed pistons, with 7/16 dimpled rods,4 bolt block, snowflake aluminum 4 barrel gm intake was this a factory engine for this boat and it only has 300hours on it everything looks brand new other than a little milky oil. And i told my buddy what it was and he said hell keep he doesnt need it.
