Default mid to late 80s bbc heads

I have an opportunity to purchase a set of early gmpp rectangle open chamber aluminum heads with the "hump" in the exhaust port does anyone have any experience with these thinking of using them on a 396/402 or on a street 454 they are almost too cheap to pass up

    thanks T

Huge port. Way way way more than a 402 could ever use. Plus the flow for the size of the port isn't all that great. It was never a good head for its size. Port velocity on a 402 would be beyond bad.

that's what I was thinking, I run open chamber ovals on the 402 now and it pulls great up to 6500 I don't usually look at rectangles as a good choice for smaller builds but the price is good looks like ill save the money for other goodies
