    Default Detonation?

New plugs, #7, the only one that doesn't look good.
Never happened before. Could it be a bad plug?

YEP, 3 plugs lead me to pull my heads and a valve job was necessary, I was 1 run away from disaster.

What would cause the pitting on the electrode valve wise?
    Leaning out?

Show the rest of the plugs to give a comparison! Could be a guide going away and getting hot spots from the oil? Leak down would tell you more.

    Bingo, 100%, leaking through intake.
Backed off the rocker and it helped a little. Reran the valves and it was back to 100%. Was rolling it over by hand with the tester still on and after the second full cycle BAM no more leaky.
I'm guessing something on the valve or seat hanging it open?

Anything big enough on the seat to cause it to leak that bad thru the valve, would most likely bend the valve.
Aluminum heads? Could be a seat that came loose.
I'd pull the all the plugs, pull that rocker, let the air push the piston to the bottom of the hole, and smack the intake valve a few time with a plastic mallet. If does seal every time you smack it, pull the head.

If it was bent how would it seal at all? Will the valve rotate enough to seal temporarily if you're rolling it over my hand?
Cast heads, do you mean if it doesn't seal every time pull the head?

    Thanks for the replys.

Didn't mean to co. I don't think the valve is bent. I also don't think some some thing that big was under the valve either. Either you have a seat thats lose, or a tight guide thats hanging the valve, or you did something wrong in the test.

if it's slightly bent, could be just enough to hang it up in the guide.

I agree with gn7 on this! Without insult, an educated eye could check stem heigth level and see the problem. I have a feeling that he has a guide hanging the valve open. Could be tight guide or bad spring or lose seat. Which ever the head or heads need to come off and be checked, I would pull them both and fix the problem.
