    Default blower boost

    By increasing cubic inches how much boost pressure will you lose at the same overdrive?
    for example, BBC 468 to 540, 8-71, 11% over

    That particular example would lose about 4-5 lbs. all else being equal, with a good blower

    there is more to boost than just engine and blower size and overdrive. Cam, heads, exhaust, play a part as well.

    same cam, .05 larger intake valves, of course more fuel too, everything else the same. I was guessing the same loss.

    Depending on the blowers capabilities, it will drop from about 16lbs to about 12

    Boost is just a number !!!!!!!

    30 lbs of boost at 300 degrees of intake temp compared to 15 lbs of boost at 90 degrees of intake temp, which is better ?

    True.
    Air density doesn't half at those tempertures. If I could keep the detonation under control with the 30 lbs at 300, I'd take it.
    But you are correct, boost is not everything people make it out to be. Specially the turbo worshppers

    Is this a trick question? Or is the exhaust backing up the flow and creating more boost and heat?

    A "weak" blower with lots of overdrive compared to a "really good" blower and not much overdrive !

    Case design and rotor design.

    Ever looked into a ( sample ) Kobelco K11 Superman style case or the TBS XR-1 or a Littlefield LB0-20 ?

    It's a mooney, definitely not a kobelco, it's fresh, maybe 10-15 passes, the intake temp would affect it

    I was thinking a badly designed compound system wtih a turbo feeding a badly leaking over driven 4-71

    Those huffers are game changers.. They make the run of the mill stripped stuff look like the blower under the dash.

    my iats are below ambient at 18lbs how bout yours lol my intake freezes over like a a/c accumulator thats low on freon.your lack of turbo airflow knowledge is pretty appearent going off of your last statement.all the turb guys on this site arent peaking their turbs which translates nto low iats fyi.almost all the blower guys here are overdriving tho which is heating it up.

    Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.
