    Default Double checking my math...

Getting the last of the parts to put my boat together and wanted to make sure that I have not missed anything. Here is what I am running for the fuel system:

Imco tank plumbed with 10 AN to a 100 micron filter then to a Race Pumps 1600 fuel pump. From the pump, 8 AN to a Race Pumps 5011 regulator. One side is plugged and the other is 8 AN to the fuel log. 4 AN bypass return going from the regulator back to the Imco tank.

The tank will be mounted directly above the fuel pump via a bracket that is mounted to the head, so gravity will be feeding it with a straight shot to the pump. I will keep the lines as short and straight as possible.

This will be a race gas 598 bbc running a single dominator turning 7000 rpm. Does anyone see any problems with this setup?

Looks good to me. I have seen some run a finer filter after the Race Pump just in case something might stick a float. Other than that it looks good to me.

The return is more for a car with high under hood temps that might cause a vapor lock. If you have an open engine compartment in a boat , you could more than likely cap off the return and be just fine. It would give you a little more supply volume by doing this as well. JMO.

100 microns is .004". I'd put a finer filter after the pump

It was my understanding you are to NOT run a return with a race pump piston pump

You don't run a BYPASS type regulator. There is a difference. The bypass the OP is refering to is really more of small metered full time bleed that is intented to keep fuel moving thru the system so it is less likely to vapor lock, specially during long idle periods like in a traffic jam.

I plan on getting a 10 micron filter, but working with what I have at the moment. Got a good deal on the regulator and since the return was there, I thought it could only help.

Waiting on the last of the hoses to get in from Summit. Will get some pics when I am done. Thanks for comments.

Take a 4an cap with you to the lake and try it with the return capped. Bet you will find that it is fine without it.
