ford 460 temp sending unit question

    Default ford 460 temp sending unit question

    My temp gauge is not working so i want to buy a new temp sending before i go out and buy a temp gauge. problem im having is when i went to part store the temp sending unit does not match mine, the threading is a lot smaller. Dont know yr. Of motor guessing its same yr as boat 77. Located in front of engine just under the thermostat housing. i also want to add ive checked online and it also and same thing mine iz a lot bigger. can anyone stear me in right direction.

    So theres no difference in auto and marine. Theres got to be the right one out there for it. Ivereplacedit before from a marine junk yard but it didnt come off a 460 i forget what it came off of but it was same exact part

    The threads mean nothing. Different gauges have different ohm requirements. What gauge do you have?
