    Thumbs down Focking Purolator Bean-Counters!

Been a Purolator user for decades...until now...SOB's took the usual #L10028 (used on my Corvette) and shortened to a stubby filter #L15313
So, being pissed, I call a Purolator rep, of course he's trying to tell me "it's shorter but improved!"
I tell him "bullshit, you made it smaller because (and like my suppler told me) it now fits a lot more applications, but now I as a consumer I'm paying the SAME or MORE money for a lot less filter capacity". He chuckled and pretty much agreed with my comment...probably though I was some penny-loafer wearing yuppie that also wears a salmon colored sweater tied around my neck.
So, on to another filter manufacture for my Vette, cause like I told the rep that tried to BS me..."you just lost a loyal customer of decades"
    Focking bean-counters!

Thats EXACTLY what the mofos did. You can put a small filter where a large one will fit, but not the other way around.
AMSOIL did the same thing awhile back and got so many complaints they restored some of the part numbers, but not all.

    TRUTH
I don't need something fancy just a decent filter, car only sees 3000 miles a year.
But now I gotta research what manufacture didn't cut the prior size filter I need in 1/2 ... because I hear across the board a LOT of them are doing it!

Don't know, Bob...I haven't been searching anything but the old L10028 number. Just earlier I went to buy it and found out the focked-up news. Of course no one behind the counter knows ANYTHING > dumb focks asked if my Corvette was a "diesel"!

TFF another rep told me "the new stubby filter has a synthetic blend media and will catch more contaminants"...I told him " yea ok, but less capacity is LESS capacity".
Looking into Purolator L34631 ... looks to be a deeper can.

It better than that. First they say it flows the same because of the synthetic media. Thats cool. But it also traps MORE contaminates, which means its catching stuff that use to pass thru the old filter, and now the small filter fills even FASTER!!

    EXACTLY
Just visited Advance Auto...Purolator L34631 'appears' to be the same hole-size, thread pitch, rubber gasket diameter and can-height as the old L10028.
Of course the Purolator rep could tell me nothing.
I'll purchase and before filling with oil I'll do a 'dry-fit'.
