Default Tried to move too fast!

So, this is my first serious blown alky drag deal. Seen my motor go through alot of abuse(even before I bought it) and started to get the idea that it was just so tough that it would handle anything I could throw at it! So I decided to step it up a bit, went from a 1271 to 14, running stricktly hat nozzles to adding ports and a high speed lean out. Well instead of getting a base tune with the new fuel system and then sneaking up on the hslo, I just went and tried to do everything all @ once! Long story 1/8 mile short!, the engine is tore back down now getting some repairs, and Im thanking my lucky pistons it got shut down when it did! I WONT be making this same mistake again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know they make this new (25+ years old) eeelectronical system now that will read the exhaust gas and self adjust +- 25% to make your tune right no matter how far you had it off.
All those wires and sensors though......

A couple major piston meltdowns would have paid for the EFI system.

I guess when you are tuning a injection system with total disregard to air flow thru the engine you have to have a system with +/- 25% OR MORE to get you close.

With MFI, you do need to have a reasonable understanding of airflow into the engine. MFI tuning is not for dummies. There no O2 snesor to fix your fuck ups, no adaptive learning as you drive.

In 1967 I build my first 550HP 427 Ford MR and it is still running.
Stick to meth and EFI, together there is nothing more forgiving to a piss poor tune. Gasoline and MFI would expose your weaknesses.

Misspelled words foock with Obama's PRIZM programs. Those dipshits are still trying to figure out what EFI & MFI are and think still think METH is a drug.

TUNE is not in the EFI dictionary. without a pile of sensors plugged into the system they couldn't make any of them run.

Poor Sammy would get shoved in a locker AFTER an atomic wedgie if that pretty hydro showed up with a plastic cover over the motor!

OMG that is some funny shit right there.

Some people see this as pure BLING. But some how I don't think the v drive hydro group falls in that category.

Beer 30 and maybe a few jet guys get a woody looking at this. Not too many v drive hydro guys want this in their Kurtis 501 weither it says "Corvette" or not.
And NO! that will not pass as a single butterfly Big and Ugly on the front there.

M.F.I. is alot easier than some people think! BUT it takes a base-line tune and alot of seat of the pants understanding where the engine is lazy and at the top end if it is laying down or nosing over. Shims, springs and poppets (and what each does) makes it easy! I have tuned a few and its not as easy as reading a computer(anybody can do that) But to make an M.F.I. snap at any rpm and run the way you want gives you a really good feeling! Try doing it on an outlaw sprint car that goes from wot to idle and quarter throttle every lap you will learn real qwik what a high, mid and idle bypass do!
