I'm running a cast crank on a mild build with no problems yet. My app I'm guessing is in the 500's hp wise.

I'm also running a stock cast crank with Speed Pro forged pistons and stock rods as well. Spin it to 5400RPM on an AB impeller all the time and no problems after about 45 hours.

Cast cranks are stronger than most think, they'll run 5500-6000 all day long in a N/A deal, just put a rev limiter on it so you don't zing it to the moon when you grab air!...

I run a 6K rpm pill in my 6AL box and I tag that thing all the time. I cant see how anybody flat footin a boat can get away with out a rev limiter!
