Most of the guys around here are running NGK 8's on the lake cruising and racing. On my race boat and cars with higher compression and high RPM drag racing, I run the NGK non-extended 9's. Have been for over 25 years. 7's or hotter and then 8's are cooler and then 9's even cooler. This info is correct if the engine is tuned correctly.

I ran the NGK 8's for a short while, after cruising around the lake for a couple of miles and skiing the boys if I tried to make a pass it was loaded up and would pop and spit and whimper for a bit, switched to the 7's and no problems. Ski and cruise for couple of hours and when I hammer it, she doesn't miss a beat ......Motor is a 13:1 w/Brodix BB 2X on a 532 BBC in my TR-2 ..... NGK (R5671A-7) 4091 work for me
